Manifesting a Life You Love: The Simple Steps to Make It Happen

September 22, 20244 min read

I believe life is for living—an adventure where joy is the reward for a life well lived. And whether it's in life or business, the key to getting that joy is to keep it simple.

When I say "simple," I mean having a plan you can actually get started on and systems that make your journey smoother. Because who wants more complexity? There’s enough of that in the world already, right?

And guess what? Manifesting what you want is a simple process too. Not always easy, but definitely not complicated. Let’s break it down.

Step One: Own It

Take full responsibility for your life. Yep, all of it—your choices, where you are now, and how you feel.

If you're not happy with where you are, guess what? You can change that. No one can force you to live a life you don’t want, unless you let them. The choices you’ve made up until now brought you here. And new choices will take you where you want to go.

Here’s a pro tip: write down all the things you’ve achieved so far. Reflect on the forks in the road you’ve taken, the challenges you’ve faced, and what made you stronger.

This was the turning point for me. I had to stop blaming the world for my situation and accept that I stood at those crossroads, made those decisions, and now had the power to choose again.

Step Two: Get Clear on What You Want

Like many, I never knew what I wanted to be when I grew up. And that question, “Where do you see yourself in five years?” always made me uncomfortable. Honestly, all I could think was, “Not here!” Yet, 18 years later, I was still there.

The truth is, for years, I didn’t have a clear vision of what I really wanted. I dreamed of a different life but hadn’t taken the time to define it.

That changed when I started visualizing what I actually wanted: how I wanted to feel each day, where I wanted to be, who I wanted around me. As I got clearer, that vision gave me the courage to make bold decisions.

It wasn’t an overnight process—my vision grew from a vague wish to a clear, exciting destination. But once I could feelit, I knew it was possible.

Step Three: Believe You Can Have It

Here’s the thing—if you want to change your life, you have to believe you can. And that means trusting in your ability to figure it out along the way.

I’m not into the whole "ask the universe" thing. I believe life is what we make it. But let’s be real—sometimes we have to lean on faith. Faith that we’ll figure it out. Faith that it will all work out, even if we don’t know exactly how right now.

So, start by reminding yourself of all the things you have figured out. The skills you’ve developed, the challenges you’ve overcome, the lessons you’ve learned. Write them down until you believe in yourself as much as others believe in you!

Step Four: Face Your Fears

Fear is sneaky, isn’t it? It’ll hold you back if you let it. And, trust me, I let it hold me back for a long time.

I was afraid I wouldn’t make enough money. Afraid I’d end up lounging on the couch all day watching bad TV and doing 50p surveys for cash. When I finally wrote those fears down, I could see how ridiculous they were.

Fear doesn’t care if you’re happy; it just wants you to stay "safe." So, call those fears out. Write them down and look them square in the face. Are they real, or are they excuses?

Step Five: Let Go of "How"

I used to be the "how-to" person at work. If someone needed something done, I was the one they’d call. But when it came to changing my life, I had no idea how to make it happen.

All I had was a vision: a simpler life, in shorts and flip flops, living somewhere sunny. I had no idea how I’d get there, but I knew I had to let go of worrying about it.

And I’ll never forget the moment I did. I told a friend, “I’m going to use my savings to buy a house in Corfu.” She asked, “But how are you going to live?” I simply replied, “I don’t know yet. I have a plan, and I’ll figure the rest out on the way.”

And that’s exactly what I did.

Step Six: Decide and Go All In

When I say "go all in," I don’t mean quitting your job tomorrow and moving to the beach with zero savings (unless that’s your thing). What I mean is making the decision that you’re going to live the life you want—and then doing everything in your power to make it happen.

That commitment, that decision, is crucial. Without it, you’ll stay stuck where you are, dreaming but never doing.

So there you have it. Manifesting the life you want isn’t about waiting for the stars to align or for the universe to hand it to you. It’s about owning your choices, getting clear on your vision, facing your fears, and deciding to go all in.

Life is your grand adventure. Why not make it one filled with joy, freedom, and a whole lot of sunshine? ☀️
