Let me start with this: I am not a productivity machine.
My brain isn’t wired for perfectly timed colour-coded routines.
But you know what I am?
Someone who’s learned how to pay attention to when I work best — and plan around that.
Because here's the truth most business advice skips:
You don’t need to do more. You need to do the right things at the right time — for you.
That’s when my brain is clear.
That’s when I can plan, write, solve problems, make decisions.
After a few hours? Not so much. My brain gets crowded and I need time to recharge.
So I build my week around that.
Strategy work happens first thing.
Creative work lives in the mornings.
Calls are scheduled earlier in the day, so I can show up fully.
Admin? Afternoon. Always.
It’s not a rigid rulebook. But it works.
Some days you only have an hour between client work.
Sometimes your “best” time gets eaten up by life stuff.
That’s fine.
But if you can carve out even a bit of time for your most important work during your natural energy window, everything feels easier.
And honestly? Easier matters.
Try this for a few days:
Notice what time of day you feel focused, clear, or energised.
What are you doing when time feels like it’s flying by (in a good way)?
What feels heavy, and when does your brain shut down?
That’s your data.
Use it to rearrange your week — even a little — so it supports your flow instead of fighting it.
Look at your weekly to-do list and move just one important task into your “golden hour.”
The time where your brain feels sharpest.
That small change might make everything feel more doable.
